THE VESUVIUS IN MILAN: THE INVASION OF PIZZERIAS AND PASTRY-SHOPS

THE VESUVIUS IN MILAN: THE INVASION OF PIZZERIAS AND PASTRY-SHOPS

The great success of a Neapolitan-inspired gastronomy in Milan – and more generally inspired by the region of Campania –  is somehow the confirmation of a – hopefully – irreversible trend. Half a century ago, Milan was a city where the few Neapolitan pizzerias were greatly sought-after, such as Rosy and Gabriele, extraordinary for their popularity, open till late and cozy. In time, the fascination for Naples started to fade, replaced by other trends of the moment. But since a few years back there has been a great comeback, thanks to pizza’s driving force, the real Neapolitan pizza,  which had become a mirage here.”
